About the event
This event is going to be an awesome day full of music: Alhambra Highlanders Pipes and Drums and Suttles Family Legacy will both be performing! This year's keynote address will be given by Dr. Mary Lambert. You may have seen some of the interviews she has given on the local news channels lately? She brings military service, public health service, and much more to the podium! You won't want to miss her address.
As always, we will be honoring our military veterans with song, praise, and prayer. Mr. Leroy Wilson will be asking God's grace. VVA 203-member, Don Hays, will be displaying the Georgia Vietnam KIA plaque. Many other veteran directed events will be happening, all beginning at 11:00 a.m.
This year we have added, Building the Blue Bridge to our events. This organization has the following mission:
OUR MISSION
TO UNITE THE NORTHWEST GEORGIA AND SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE REGIONS IN SUPPORT OF FIRST RESPONDERS WITH CARE, EMPATHY, AND TRUST IN PURSUIT OF SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS FOR OUR CHILDREN.
BUILDING THE BLUE BRIDGE IS COMMITTED TO BRIDGING THE DIVIDE THAT EXISTS BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS, WORKING WITH AND MENTORING AT-RISK YOUTH TO PROMOTE A HEALTHY PERCEPTION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND CONNECTION WITH OUR NEIGHBORS THROUGH COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLES.
